  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • Argentina
  • Chile
  • South Africa
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
And, our private driver - wine guide do all the driving as well as provide expert wine commentary and insider information and provide the colorful context for a most meaningful and personal experience.

The Benefits of having a Guide

Our Clients tell us that having a guide adds a lot to your tour and makes all the difference in the world:
  • No Drinking and driving worries – apart from the obvious common sense reasons, France in particular now is extremely strict, with a 0.05 alcohol limit and severe penalties. From March 2013 all cars must carry their own breathalyzer.
  • Navigation – even with very detailed directions, some wineries are not easy to locate – and GPS will often take you to a similar name, but completely different location.
  • Language – rather obvious, but many of the more interesting (especially smaller) wineries do not speak English.
  • Background knowledge – this is probably the most important. Though each winery will have a host, their focus is on their own property and promoting their wines. The guide will not only be able to give you the answers to the questions they didn’t volunteer or you didn’t want to put them on the spot to answer, but will also have all kinds of local knowledge – from the geology and history, to personalities and even juicy gossip.
